What Should I Wear?
Comfortable and casual is the rule at Saint James. Wear whatever makes you feel at home.

What's Worship Like?
Refreshments are available before service. Many people come early to meet and greet their neighbors and catch up on the week's events.

Worship at Saint James is a blend of ancient and modern. We begin worship by singing songs of praise to the Lord. Words to the songs--and anything else you need to know during the service--are projected onto a large screen in the front of the sanctuary. The Scripture for the week is read aloud. Often, the pastor uses a short clip from a movie to introduce the theme of the week's message.

A message is preached that tries to weave together the Biblical witness with the struggles we face in our own lives. After the message, we pray together as a community of faith, then share in Communion. We end our worship with a song, then take our worship experience out into the world.

Tell me more about Communion...
At Saint James, we celebrate Communion (a.k.a. The Eucharist, the Lord's Supper) every time we gather. All are invited to join us at the Lord's Table. It doesn't matter if you're a first-time visitor, whether you're a member of Saint James, or a member of any church at all. God's invitation is to you and you're welcome to share in the meal. On the other hand, if coming to the Table is not in keeping with your faith or would push you away from God, don't come. We're not taking attendance, just know that you are invited.

We serve unfermented grape juice and fresh bread during Communion. The congregation forms a line and each person receives a small piece of bread. Then, he/she dips his/her bread in the cup of grape juice and eats it.
