Jesus is out for a walk with his disciples (pretty much, that is his whole ministry pattern). A gentile, a Canaanite woman, calls to him for help. He doesn’t respond. She keeps calling. His disciples ask him to respond. He does. As we continue to learn from the Jesus stories in Matthew’s gospel, we’ll look at what this story can teach us.
