Where do we find "comfort" when everything seems a bit upside-down? What word do we have when things are challenging and difficult and we do not have a clear sense of when "this" will be over? Isaiah 40 speaks words of hope and comfort to a people who have lost a sense of home and promise. If last week was a request to "break through the heavens," this week is a response promising consolation and the sign of a "voice" crying in the wilderness.
