Love and fear

"There is no fear in love..." What did he say? Could the elder writing the First Letter of John have any idea about what he is saying? Let us be honest with one another. When the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the world passed 1 million on Thursday, it shook us a bit. I know it gave me pause.

If I have fear, does it mean I don't have love? Since fear and personal struggle are on many folks minds, it seems providential that one of our readings this last week in First John is about fear. This Sunday we will look at fear and ask how we can deal with fear even now.
